How to Move E-Mail from G-Mail to Yahoo?

G-Mail, over the years has turned out to be the biggest E-Mail service provider, with features and integration tools to make any other E-Mail service look like a "just a waste of time".But Yahoo! Mail may be the only other E-Mail service provider with some foothold in the market, due to integration services such as Yahoo! Answers etc.If you would wish to move your E-Mail from Gmail to Yahoo!, you will be interested to read the following -

TrueSwitch

Yahoo! Mail uses a feature called TrueSwitch, with the help of which you can move your entire inbox from G-Mail or Hotmail accounts to your Yahoo! Mail account.

A good feature isn't it? Especially if you love to use a single E-mail for many functions (and love Yahoo!).TrueSwitch is not only limited to shifting inboxes from G-Mail, Hotmail to Yahoo, but also shifting the inbox of one Yahoo! Mail address to another Yahoo! Mail address, a very useful tool indeed.

Yahoo! Mail seems to have played a good card, by not allowing the reverse of this action to take place, that is to move your Yahoo! Mail Inbox to a G-Mail address, well it is not different from what Google is doing with the integration of only G-Mail accounts with popular services such as YouTube, Blogger etc.

TrueSwitch is free feature, so you do not need to worry about the cost of moving your inbox to a new address.

Like many of Yahoo! features, TrueSwitch is not a part of Yahoo!, it is a third party developed feature, that Yahoo! has adopted as a partner.

5 Tips To Protect Your E-Mail Account And Privacy

E-Mail is one of the most important tools that we use online, it is definitely much more private and safe to send a message through E-Mail rather than through a Social Networking Site. But there are ways by which you can compromise your E-Mail account inadvertently, so today I will give you some tips to not get caught out and make sure that you keep your E-Mail Account safe.

Do Not Post Your E-Mail Information On Any Social Networking Sites
The maximum you should provide to a Social Network is your E-Mail Id.You should never give away your Password, Pin Code details etc.Although reputed Social Networks like Facebook or Twitter never ask for the password nor would they ever misuse it, but some fraud networks can do so.

Also never give your password or other sensitive information to applications that ask for your permission on Facebook and Twitter.Remember these applications are not developed by Facebook and hence cannot be trusted, they may misuse your personal information.

Have A Strong Password
Always have a strong password, use a combination of letters, numbers and special characters.Never use your own name or your relatives names or your birth date as your password. These passwords can be easily identified by someone who knows you well.

Also, keep changing your password every month.Especially if you use public computers.

Public Computers? Be Careful.
You cannot always use your own personal computer, sometimes you may have to use a public computer.Public Computers are one of the top reasons why people lose their E-Mail Accounts. You may forget to log out and hence the next person using that computer would be in total control of your E-Mail Account.

You may have not noticed, but some Internet Cafe owners tick the "Remember Me" below the password entry section.Make sure that you always un-check that option.

Don't Be Fooled.
Sometimes you may receive a mail from your "E-Mail Provider" claiming that your password has been compromised and hence you may have to create a new password.Do not fall prey to such frauds, always navigate to the service provider's website manually and check if the message was true, before you enter any password details.

Do Not Use Same Password Everywhere
Make sure that you use different passwords for your E-Mail Account, Social Networking accounts, E-Commerce website accounts etc.

If one of these accounts got compromised, then you would lose all your accounts, if you use the same password for all the accounts.

Follow these 5 simple tips to keep your E-Mail Account safe and sound.Always be careful and aware of the websites you are visiting and hence be safe.

G-Mail Gets Automatic Language Translation

G-Mail from Google, received a new feature, automatic language translation. This new G-Mail Language translation feature has been introduced with the aim of making communication between different language speaking people easier on the web.

With G-Mail Language translation feature, you can translate the messages into your native language or any-other language.You can even reply in the native language of the sender, so that it is easier for them to understand.

All you have to is press the "Translate" button to see the accurate translation of the message in your desired language. This feature had been available in Google Labs since 2009, we are not sure why Google had not implemented this in G-Mail before now, given that the Technology was available a few years ago.

If you are not a big fan of Language translation, you can always turn off the Translate option, there is also an option to enable Translate permanently.

Overall we feel that this is a very important feature that G-Mail was missing, now Google has filled that void.I feel other mail services will soon follow suit.

Save the New G-Mail Ads

Google Adsense Ads are everywhere, now you can also find them in your G-Mail Inbox, with new custom styles for the ads as seen in the image, first spotted here.

The small box in the upper right hand corner, which has a thumbnail image in it, was all that appeared alongside the original email. The text advertises an upcoming movie, “One Day”. Clicking on the box opened the larger image inside an email. At the top left (not shown here) the user is given three options: Save to Inbox, Forward and Dismiss.
G-Mail provides you with the option of saving these ads that appear in the sidebar of your inbox for future use, say for a coupon or a discount or just a link to a website you found through the Adsense Ads.If you dismiss an ad however, it will never appear again. So use this tool wisely to make sure that you have the right kind of ads at G-Mail.

Can Google Employees Read Your G-Mail Email? Is there Privacy?

Gmail employees can see your Mail

Google runs and takes care of G-Mail and sometimes in that process, some of the Google Employees may need to access some accounts mail, but this is a very rare case that the G-Mail crew need to look into the Mail of the G-Mail users.Even when they do have an absolute necessity, the crew needs to sign papers of confidentiality and they should know that everything they do is traceable and that they may face legal action or dismissal from employment if they misuse the data, but 99.999% of the time they need to see a Mail, it is only the Meta Data that they get to see and not your actual Mail contents. So never be worried that someone may impede on your Privacy at G-Mail.

How to Log In to your Multiple G mail Accounts at the same time?

Do have multiple G Mail Accounts that use frequently like me? Then this post article will really help you out.I was doing some experimenting with the Multiple Log In features of G Mail Accounts, and to my surprise I found that Google has made some features where you can sign in to G Mail Accounts, I am not talking about having different G Mail Accounts in different browsers or different G Mail Accounts in different Tabs of a browser, say Google Chrome.I am actually talking about having all your Important G Mail Accounts linked in one Account so that you can check and Compos mail from one place with any of your G Mail Accounts.

First of all, Sign in to one of your G Mail Accounts and hit the Settings Tab. Here you should see a Screen like this -

Multiple G-Mail Log In

Now look for the Grant Access Section of the Settings Page -

Grant Access to G-Mail Pic

Here you can add the Different accounts that you are willing to allow access to your G Mail Accounts. You can use this feature of Google to merge or combine your Personal and Business G Mail Accounts or maybe you and your spouses G Mail account or have a common Account for a group of people working together Etc.

There are some limitations to Granting Access and the Multiple Log In features -

  1. The Access Granted G Mail Accounts can send and receive E-Mail in your Name.
  2. This Multiple Log In feature of G-Mail does not work with other Google services such as Google Apps or YouTube or Google+.
  3. If one of the Accounts is Hacked, all the accounts are compromised.

This feature is Called E-Mail Delegation by Google.Make sure you check out all our other How-To Guides
