Samsung Galaxy S3: 12 Amazing Features Review

We recently wrote posts on the Hands-On of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Release date of the Samsung Galaxy S3, as promised here is a review of some of the best features of the Samsung Galaxy S3.We were able to clearly define 12 of the best features, from several others to make this list of the "12 Amazing Features Review" -

12)S Beam - By combining the powers of NFC and WiFi Direct, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is capable of sharing files and media with another Samsung Galaxy S3 by just tapping it together.Unfortunately this does not work with other phones, hence the S Beam is at number 12.

11)Pop-Up Play - I really enjoyed this feature, this feature is possible because of the Quad Core Processor.Imagine you are viewing a movie on your Samsung Galaxy S3, and want to read a text, you can make the movie into a small pop-up (as you would in a computer) and keep watching it as you read the text. This is one of the benefits of a 4.8 Inch Screen.

10)Smart Stay - I have had many time when I will be reading a long note on my phone and the backlight times out and I have to press something to make it come back on again. But with Smart Stay, it senses if your face is in front of the screen or not and adjusts the timing of the back-light using sensors mounted on the front of the Samsung Galaxy S3.

9)AllShare Play - The Samsung Galaxy S3 has this new feature called as the AllShare Play.It enables direct media exchange and play between different Samsung devices such as between the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Samsung Smart TV's.

8)Best Photo - Although many smart phones these days have this feature, I still liked it a lot on the Samsung Galaxy S3.As the Samsung Galaxy S3 takes pictures in a burst mode, the feature selects the photo which is the best and deletes the rest.

7)Social Tagging / Buddy Share - Samsung claims that the Samsung Galaxy S3 can use face recognition to match the people in your photos to those in your contacts, I personally have not used this tool much so I am keeping it in number 7 although it sounds like a really amazing feature.

6)8 MP Camera - As you probably know the Samsung Galaxy S3 hosts an amazing 1080p video recording capable camera.

5)Sharp Bluetooth Stereo - The Apt-X codec in the Galaxy S III finally takes the blurry muddiness out of Bluetooth stereo, promising much sharper wireless sound. This new feature is also found in the HTC One X.

4)Better Call Quality - Smarty Phone or not, if a phone cannot make good calls and great audio quality then it is useless, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a sure winner in this department, it is one of the best call qualities I have ever heard.

3)S Voice - Simply Put, it is Samsung's answer to Apple's Siri.It helps make Google searches and also complete various tasks within the phone.

2)Quad Core Processor - 32nm 1.4GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor on the Exynos 4412 (Exynos 4 Quad) Chipset processor on the Samsung Galaxy S3 is simply one of the best ever to come out for the Smart Phone segment.

1)Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 - Samsung Galaxy S3 is the second Samsung Phone after the Galaxy Nexus S to run on ICS, the latest and greatest version of Android. The HTC One X One V and One S also run on the ICS Android 4.0

 Samsung Galaxy S3 features

So here was a list of the Top 12 Features or Applications or Tools in the Samsung Galaxy S3, stay tuned for more smart phone news.

HTC One X Review - Price in India - Features

HTC One X Review

HTC One X is the flagship model of HTC in the year 2012.It has already been released in the USA, but it is yet to come to India.HTC One X has been called as the iPhone killer and is looking to put up some serious competition to the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy SII smart phones in the high end smart phone category, which is a very difficult category to hope to come out on top of.

Design
The HTC One X is made of poly carbonate compounds, which will protect your phone from accidental drops and temperature changes.HTC One X is one of the sleekest HTC phones, and comes in Black and White colors. The thickness of the phone is a mere 8.9mm, which is great considering HTC has packed in an 8-MegaPixel camera and a 720p HD screen. The HTC One X has a 4.7 Inch screen with Super LCD 2 technology. The HTC One X has three capacitive touch buttons which are compatible with the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 operating software.HTC One X has a front facing camera which we will talk about later, the 8-MegaPixel rear camera extends a couple of millimeters and it can be a little irritating if you like a smooth and even back on your phones. The HTC One X has a 3.5mm jack for audio output and it has a slot for a Micro Sim and not the normal Sim card.HTC One X also has two microphones for stereo recording during landscape videos. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass. The music speakers (Beats Audio) at the bottom on the back side of the chassis.

Processor
HTC One X comes with a Quad-Core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, whilst the US version comes with a Dual-Core Snapdragon S4 processor, either way the processor on this mean machine is going to out do any other smart phone, other than its close competitors. The processor has been clocked at 1.5Ghz so you can be sure that you will not see any lags and slowdowns.

Screen

HTC One X Review
HTC One X has a 4.7 Inch IPS Super LCD 2 screen, with over 300ppi (Pixels Per Inch) which is very close to the iPhone ppi which is around 330, which means you will not get any pixelation with the HTC One X smart phone, at-least with the naked eye.The screen has a wide viewing angle, which ensures that you see the real colors from most angles with which you look at the phone.

Operating Software
HTC One X runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense UI 4.0, both of which are the latest and greatest versions.

Camera

The HTC One X has an 8-MegaPixel Camera with LED flash and a video recorder which is capable of recording at 1080p HD.The pictures seemed really good, but the video playback seemed a little grainy although it was shot at 1080p HD.The audio recording during the video recording is one of the best I have heard, even in windy conditions. The HTC One X Camera app has a lot of options with the type of photos being taken, also it has flash for video so that you can shoot in the dark. The HTC One X can also take 4 pictures in a second, when you just keep your finger on the capture button. Also HTC guarantees there will be no shutter lag, but it does a have a negligible amount of shutter lag.The most amazing thing about the HTC One X camera is that you can take pictures even when you are shooting a video.

Music Player

The HTC One X music player is a very elegant player and the transitions are really smooth and the equalizer is well equipped. If you are not happy with the music player on the HTC One X, you can always download other music players which are comfortable with. The audio seems average or just above average for the price range, even with Audio Beats technology.

Storage
The HTC One X has a total of 32GB of internal memory with no option of expanding using a MicroSD card. You will be able to use only about 25 GB of the storage, the rest is for the software and applications. With a purchase of any HTC One Series smart phones, you will also get 25 GB of free cloud storage with DropBox.

Final Verdict
HTC One X is the best HTC phone out yet and is a smart phone that can compete and beat the iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy SII, but will definitely get overshadowed by the Samsung Galaxy SIII when that releases.

The HTC One X will probably cost around Rs.37000 in India, which is extremely expensive given the fact that a Samsung Galaxy SII is available at Rs.27000

jQuery Mobile 1.1.0 Released - Download

jQuery Mobile 1.1.0 Released
jQuery Mobile is a website developing tool that has been developed to create websites for mobile phones, especially smart phones. The jQuery Mobile tool (Version 1.1.0) has integrated Ajax, theme development etc, which makes it a very useful tool with the help of which you can create interactive websites. The good thing about this jQuery Mobile tool is that you need not be an expert in coding, even if you are a beginner, it does not matter as it can build quite powerful interfaces using just HTML5.The jQuery Mobile also has a few useful data attributes. This latest version of jQuery Mobile, that is jQuery Mobile 1.1.0 brings with it some new improvements such as tool-bars and animations etc.

A lot of the older java-script bugs have been taken care of by using the position:fixed CSS property for the above mentioned added improvements. But there is a flaw with this new improvement as it does not function properly on all platforms, but fear not, a fall-back to the old option has been created for platforms which have problems of functioning. The biggest improvement seems to be that of the page transitions, which are much faster when compared to before.

Android users may get frustrated by the slower transitions, the newer Android versions of 3 and above support bulk of the transitions, whereas the lower Android devices will simply see a fade effect.

Here are some of the other things you will find in the jQuery Mobile 1.1.0 -

  • A new subtler Ajax loader design that is configurable.
  • A brief version of all form elements.
  • Support for data-ajax=false on containers.
  • A new data-enhance attribute that allows turning off jQuery’s automatic enhancement features for a container.
  • A new improved version of ThemeRoller, which is a tool for creating jQuery Mobile themes.
You can download the jQuery Mobile 1.1.0 here.
