SEO: Descriptive Anchor Text For Outbound Links

The Google team recently released a statement that made a lot of sense to me as an SEO specialist, it was something that most bloggers and webmasters knew but did not utilize as the recommendation had not come from a reliable source. Now the Google themselves have released the tips for SEO of an Anchor Text, now we can all follow it.

Here is what Maile Ohye of Google Search Team had to say about SEO of an Anchor Text -
Descriptive anchor text (the visible text in a hyperlink) helps accurately inter-connect the web. It allows both users and Googlebot to better understand what they’re likely to find when following a link to another page. So if it’s not too much trouble, try making anchor text descriptive.
Google Bots like descriptive text in Anchor links to outbound sites. It gives them a way to know what they can expect in the page they are about to follow.

Usually many webmasters use non-descriptive text like "Here", "Read More" "This Link" etc. These are not really that useful for SEO.This might help you rank higher in Google Search.
