Here are a few things you should keep in mind before downloading and upgrading to Windows 8-

System Requirements for Windows 8 - Gives the minimum specs and features that your computer or laptop should have before installing Windows 8.With Specs like those it is more likely that most people will not have sufficient system requirements to run Windows 8 optimally and nut just minimally.

Dowloading a ISO of Windows 8
Downloading the Setup File for Windows 8


If you are planning to have two operating systems on your computer (dual boot), or you want to upgrade from an older version of Windows such as Windows 7, you can choose the Setup File option for downloading and installing Windows 8.

If you are installing Windows 8 afresh, then you might lose some or all of your applications on your hard-drive, if you are just upgrading to Windows 8, then you will not lose any files.
